Lung cancer

Lung cancer is the number one cause of cancer for men and women. It’s also known to be the most preventable type of cancer there is. Smoking tobacco accounts for nearly 8 out of 10 cancer cases in the Unites States. There is two types of lung cancer: non-small fell lung cancer and small cell lung cancer. Both grow in different ways so have to be treated differently.

 

Preventions
One of the best ways to lower the risk of getting lung cancer is to quit smoking or preferably no to smoke at all. Second hand smoke is also dangerous and should try to be avoid it. If working with chemical people should make sure that this are not cancer-causing chemicals. Another way way is reduces the chances of lung cancer is to have a health and balanced diet that includes 2 ½ cup of vegetables and fruits everyday.

Detection
Lung cancer symptoms often don’t appear until the disease has progressed, this is why early detection is difficult but key. It’s recommended to get a yearly LDCT screening for people that could be in risk of getting lung cancer and meet the following conditions:

• Age 55 to 74.
• Currently smoke or have quit smoking in the past.
• People that smoke more pack or more of cigarettes per day.
